I was born in Dallas, TX, but spent my formative years in New Orleans where I started playing with serious intent at 10 yrs old. It was in New Orleans that I received the best advice of my life from an old Jazz cat, "don't be a rock and roll drummer, be a musician".  This was the perfect city from which to sponge a multitude of diverse cultural and musical styles.  In high school I was able to attend a school of the arts for a short while, where I started playing piano (I also play guitar, bass and some laughable sax). 

 I continued to cut my teeth in a series of different touring bands. I played with a few bands in Vegas, then set roots in L.A. where I did session work, and played in a kazillion bands. 

I love my role in Piss Ant, whether I'm beating the living crap out of my drum kit, or behind a guitar working on new material.  You couldn't ask for more loyal partners in crime or a better 2nd family, aahhh!

That's it, Duarte in a nutshell!  So come out to a show ,jump, scream, drink, yell, slam and rock .....a lot!!!
