Piss Ant was born as gnarled
guitar sounds and guttural vocals whipped off an engaging live show.
Attention to PISS ANT has culminated due to various TV show appearances.
Singer Josi explains some of their outlandish publicity stunts that they
have pulled to gain international attention.
"I think the biggest
stunt we pulled was getting the band on VH-1. I informed the producers
that we were on Playboy TV and they ran with it. The next thing you know
the whole entire country now thinks I'm a porn star"
VH-1 featured
live footage of Piss Ant, along with an up close and personal interview
on their show entitled "Porn to Rock". E! Entertainment
Channel used Piss Ant's songs and an interview with Josi in their
segment of "Hollywood Nights." Recent spotlights include a
live performance by the band on the Playboy Channel's "Lex in the
City", in addition to being featured in a segment of footage for the
Oxygen Channel's hit show "Girls Behaving Badly."
Catch Piss
Ant's live footage & music clips used in new videos called
"American Misfit" and "Sex, Y & Z" which feature
extreme sports, music, and other oddities, out on Zalman King
Productions ("9 1/2 Weeks" and "Red Shoe Diaries").
Piss Ant can also be seen in the soon-to-be-released Troma Pictures
"Tales from the Crapper" starring Julie Strain. Dave and Josi
also starred on Friends or Lovers (USA Network) where Dave pulled a
publicity stunt by firing Josi from the band on live TV. You can also
catch the band's video "SeXXX Junkie" on the Playboy Channel's
"Sex Court."
At the first annual Rockrgrl Magazine Music
Conference in Seattle, one of the more kickass, no nonsense rock and
roll shows was L.A.'s Piss Ant. Before their tours and trips to SXSW, this band emerged from the underground scene and dove into the Hollywood
scene head first.
